Analyzing, designing, programming and testing TriZetto software programs and applications. Working closely with Product Design, Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, Quality Assurance and Customer Support to assess, enhance, maintain and support software solutions to business problems. Using strong logic, computer language skills, combined with healthcare industry and practical knowledge, deliver and maintain applications and software providing comprehensive business solutions to the healthcare industry.

Job Title: AI Lead Software Engineer

Role: Individual Contributor Lead Software Engineer

Essential Functions:
• Contribute to the product engineering activities, with special emphasis on design, and development of complex features & functionality
• Help define and improve standards (coding patterns, code review etc.) and processes (config management, devops automation etc.) within the product team
• Participate in the scrum ceremonies
• Provide support to the quality assurance related activities
• Contribute to knowledge sharing related activities within and outside the team
• Work with the architects in helping the team move forward on the technology spectrum
• Provide leadership and guidance to the other team members on domain, technology, standards and other aspects of engineering
• Lead the operationalization of AI models, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and secure.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to AI and machine learning teams.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in AI and machine learning technologies.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related dicipline.

Masters degree preferred.

An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be taken into consideration in lieu of a degree.

Required Experience:

Minimum of eight years’ related experience in a software development environment.

Desired Experience:
• Practical experience in designing and implementing AI, machine learning, and generative AI systems..
• Understanding of AI technologies, including neural networks, natural language processing, and computer vision.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Healthcare industry experience preferred.

Behavioral Competencies:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management.
• Strong presentation skills with the ability to present to all levels of management.

Technical Competencies:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in C# and/or Python

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $113K-$153K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
