AI Engineer, Prudential Corporate AI Lab and Incubator (2 year contract) Full-time

The AI Engineer as part of the Prudential Corporate AI Lab and Incubator will support the development and run of the global AI sandbox, development of cutting-edge AI solutions, R&D and provide technical guidance and support in AI domain to the teams under incubation that develop AI Products.

The role requires a strong technical background in Data, AI and modern Cloud infrastructure, excellent technical skills, and the ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders across technology, AI and business to deliver impactful AI products. The AI Engineer will work on delivery of high-quality AI products, continues improvement and experimentation and development of Prudential’s AI expertise.

Job Description:

Sandbox Platform:

• Assist in the development and maintenance of the AI Lab’s global sandbox platform.
• Ensure the platform is effectively used for experimenting with AI applications.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the platform based on user feedback and technological advancements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into the sandbox environment.
• Provide technical guidance and support to teams using the sandbox for AI product development.

Technical AI Domain Expertise:

• Conduct research and development (R&D) to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, Large Language Model frameworks.
• Provide technical guidance and support in the AI domain to teams under incubation that develop AI products.
• Analyse and interpret data to provide actionable insights and recommendations.

AI Development and Quality:

• Optimize and fine-tune AI models for performance, scalability, and accuracy.
• Assist in the technology aspects of the structured AI product incubation and acceleration program.
• Ensure AI Products and experiments are developed in alignment with Prudential’s core risk, data protection, technology risk management policies, and regulations.
• Contribute to the implementation of rigorous quality assurance processes to maintain the highest standards of AI solutions.
• Work on the delivery of high-quality AI products, continuous improvement, experimentation, and development of Prudential’s AI expertise.

Team Collaboration

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technology, AI, and business stakeholders, to integrate AI solutions into products and services.
• Work with external partners, including higher education institutions, start-ups, and hyperscale’s expert teams and government agencies.
• Contribute to a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing within the AI Lab.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers in AI and machine learning best practices

Talent Development and Ecosystem Engagement

• Contribute to the development of AI talent within Prudential through participation in education and training programs.
• Engage with the external AI ecosystem to stay updated with the latest trends and advancements.
• Represent Prudential at industry events and conferences to showcase the company’s AI capabilities.

Who we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Proven experience (5 years or more) in developing and deploying AI models and algorithms.
• Strong technical background in data, AI, and modern cloud infrastructure.
• Excellent programming skills in languages such as Python, R.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., LLM frameworks, Computer Vision, NLP frameworks, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Knowledge of data preprocessing, feature engineering, model evaluation, MLOPs, LLMOps techniques
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability & Passion for innovation and a drive to position Prudential at the forefront of AI in the insurance industry
